Main Functions and Features

uTox is formatted much in the same way as generic platforms such as Skype. Contacts and user information are presented on the left-hand side of the page while the chats themselves are displayed in a top-down manner. Users who are online and offline will be denoted by colored circles next to their names. While instant messaging is its primary function, voice and video chats are also available. Files can likewise be shared with no caps in terms of data limits.

Other Unique Benefits

It is interesting to observe that unlike other anonymous chat applications, group conversations are available through uTox. All information is encrypted and there are no centralized servers, important in terms of avoiding government interference or potential breaches of privacy.
